One of Sava’s new offerings in the containment boom range of products
is the Shore Protection Boom.
This boom features a triple chamber design. The two bottom chambers
are filled with water and the top chamber filled with air. It exhibits excellent
floating characteristics due to calculated ratio between buoyancy and
the force of gravity. As the boom settles on the ground, the vertically
perforated inner membrane acts as a stabilizing element that keeps the
boom from tipping over. It is for this reason that the Shore Protection
Boom has excellent stability and sealing characteristics. It is equally
effective on sandy, rocky or shell beaches.
Due to its high flexibility, the SGB booms are very effective in protecting
coastal areas during low and high tides. They are ideal for spill containment
in shallow waters such as rivers and marshes. They can act as dams to
facilitate clean up operations by raising the water level, as well as dykes
to contain industrial spills.
By maintaining straight line, the SGB booms enable the water to whirl
thus preventing the spreading of oil spill under the surface.
Due to the low inflation pressure, the booms are very flexible.
Cleaning of the booms is easy by using common detergents and high
pressure washers.
